Quick Squarespace Login Guide - How the hell do I log in to Squarespace?
Heads up for 2024: The Escape key login shortcut is now history. As of January 9, 2024, Squarespace has discontinued this feature. You won't be able to use the Escape key to jump straight into your dashboard from your live site anymore. Instead, you’ll need to log in using the usual methods: head to squarespace.com/login, or add "/config" to your site's URL (e.g., yoursite.com/config). This change aims to boost security, even if it means getting used to a new login routine.
If you’re reading this, it means you’ve probably tried and failed to log into your Squarespace account at least once. You’re not alone.
Creating an account with a new website is almost always a challenge from the get-go, because no one wants to deal with frustrating user experiences. But don’t fret! This article will walk you through creating a new Squarespace account and logging in when you need to access your site again.
If you find yourself struggling with logging back into your Squarespace account, it might be because you used a social media login instead of creating a username and password directly on the site. Don’t worry, we understand that sites like Facebook make it easy to connect immediately with friends… but they also make it difficult to connect directly with websites like Squarespace. Once you read this article, logging in and out of your account will be as simple as eating cake!
Now I’m hungry again…
Here’s your quick Squarespace login guide…
Create a SquareSpace Account
First things first, let’s create a Squarespace account! In order to do so, you will need to navigate to the Squarespace website. You can do this by opening up your browser and typing “squarespace.com” into the address bar. When you land on the site, click “Get Started” to begin the signup process. Squarespace offers multiple account types, including free plans and paid plans. If you want a free website, select “Start a free website”. Otherwise, select “Get 10% off a new website” if you’re planning on paying for a paid plan.
Logging in to Squarespace
Once you’ve created an account, it’s time to log in. To do so, head back to the Squarespace website and click “Log in” in the upper-right corner of the page. You’ll be redirected to a new page where you can enter your email address and click “Log in”. Squarespace will then send you an email with a link to your account. Click the link to open your account and you’ll be logged in!
Squarespace Login Option One:
Visit your website and simply press the Escape key on your keyboard. This is the simplest method. However, it doesn't always work, depending on your device or browser. If it doesn't work for you, let's move on to option two.
Squarespace Login Option Two:
Go to your website address, and in the address bar enter a forward slash and type config. Press 'enter' and your admin screen should load.
Squarespace Login Option Three:
Go to squarespace.com and click on the login button in the top right-hand corner.
Resetting Your Squarespace Password
What if you forget your password and can’t log in? Don’t panic! There are a few ways you can reset your password, depending on how long you’ve had your account. If you’ve had your account for less than a month, you can click “Forgot your password?” on the log in page. If you’ve had your account for more than a month, go to your account settings and click “Reset password”. If you’re a Squarespace Basic customer, you can reset your password by clicking “Forgot your password?” and following the instructions. If you’re a Squarespace Business customer, you can reset your password by clicking “Sign In” on the top right-hand corner of the page, then clicking “Account Settings”, and then clicking “Forgotten your password?”.
