How to add a picture to a frame in Canva - #CoffeeClips
Our Coffee Clips series for YouTube returns with today’s free Canva Tutorial: Adding photo frames in Canva.
For today's Coffee Clip, Elwyn demonstrates how to frame photos in canva. Additionally, we will show how you can select pictures correctly to fit into the frame.
We will pull these concepts all together by creating a square Instagram graphic through the entire Canva tutorial. When we talk about design, we are often talking about solving problems.
Today, we have a challenge that frequently cropped up when using Canva. This is how we can get our image positioned really nicely in a Canva frame without losing any crucial details within our Canva design. So, I used a splatter or blob type frame for my example, and I've got a photo headshot within that. We then need to choose an appropriate image depending on the ratio and orientation of the frame.
If the frame is a 4x3 ratio, then a closely cropped portrait image will likely result in essential details being masked by the frame, spoiling the overall look and feel of your hard-earned design. So let's look at how we can use frames in Canva and get the most from them. We have created a social media graphic to welcome a new team member as our example.
Here are the steps involved:
Create a new social media post in Canva (Instagram)
Find a suitable background image via the Canva image library and apply a duotone effect.
Discover Canva photo and image frames and select the correct frame shape for your design.
Learn how to put a picture in a frame in Canva, and in this case, how to frame photos in canva.
Resize and move the Canva image frame, then add our title to finish.
